Sheena Bora murder mystery: Sanjeev Khanna's close friend makes shocking revelations

Kolkata, Aug 30: In a major development, Indrani Mukherjea's second husband Sanjeev Khanna confessed his role in Sheena Bora murder case on Friday night.

Khanna made the deadly confession during a joint interrogation, that involved prime accused Indrani Mukherjea and her driver, Shyam Rai.

Before confessing to the police about his involvement in the murder, it was assumed that Khanna gave hints about the same, few years ago to one of his friends. [Sheena murder case: Sanjeev Khanna confesses his complicity in the crime]

In a report published by Mid Day, Sanjeev Khanna's close friend, Ajay Rawla said that Sanjeev had gone to Mumbai in 2012, following a phone call from Indrani Mukherjea.[Indrani has ditched me for a second time, Khanna told friend in 2012]

He also said that Sanjeev returned to Kolkata before his birthday on April 26, 2012.

Khanna had reportedly told Rawla, "She (Indrani) has ditched me for a second time. I don't know if I will recover from this.

"I could not guess what particular incident he was referring to. I thought he was upset because of Indrani", Rawla told while talking to the daily.

Rawla claimed that he didn't force Khanna to reveal more about the incident.

According to Rawla, Khanna was spotted regularly in booze parties at the Calcutta Cricket and Football Club (CCFC), since his divorce from Indrani in 2002 and after April 26, 2012, Khanna went into his own cocoon.

Sanjeev Khanna was arrested by the Kolkata police from Rawla's Alipore residence on Wednesday, Aug 26.

He was arrested a day after Indrani Mukerjea, wife of the former Star CEO Peter Mukerjea, was arrested by the Mumbai police.

Meanwhile, the CCFC has decided to take back Khanna's membership.
