Shashi Tharoor questioned for the third time; Sunanda viscera sent to US

New Delhi, Feb 12: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor who faced a third round of questioning was asked to clarify some of the statements made by others who were also questioned on Thursday.

Tharoor who faced five hours of questioning today was back at 10 pm back at the Vasanth Vihar police station for a third round of questioning.

Police sources informed that he was called back late in the night as they needed some clarification. The police had also questioned Tharoor's friend Sanjay Diwan and others.

Based on the statements made by Diwan and others the Delhi police sought some clarifications from Tharoor. The Delhi police say that they are examining every aspect and hence several rounds of questioning is required.

Meanwhile, Sunanda Pushkar's viscera samples will be examined at Federal Bureau of Investigation lab in the United States of America. The viscera samples were taken to the US by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Premnath.

The examination of the viscera samples are extremely crucial to the case. The Delhi police is convinced that she was poisoned to death. However the police could not get the samples examined in India since it is said to contain poisons that cannot be determined here.

Probe moving on

Earlier in the day, Shashi Tharoor was questioned for nearly five hours. The police were trying to ascertain if there was a conspiracy in the death is Sunanda.

The police also sought to know from Tharoor details of the IPL deal. An officer of the Economic offences wing was also present at the questioning.
