Sharm Shurm Nahi Hai Apko...: SBI's Message To Customer Goes Viral

A post from an SBI customer is going viral on social media showcasing how the State Bank of India treats its customer if a payment gets delayed. A customer, Rattan Dhillon, whose credit card bill was pending got an unexpected message from an SBI Credit Card executive.

The customer complained that an SBI executive said, on call, said, "shrm shurm nahi hai apko payment krni hoti hai due date baad akal aati hai apko" (You people don't have any self respect, you haven't paid banks money and it only hits your mind after the due date).

Dhillon reported the matter through a social media post: "This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and the bank owes me an apology... This is absolutely pathetic."

SBI

In response to Dhillon's post, SBI Card issued an apology. They stated, "Hi, we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused. We have taken a note of it & Our representative will connect with you soon."

Social Media Reactions

The incident has ignited a discussion on social media regarding customer service standards. Many users have shared their reactions and experiences. One user remarked, "This language is as per the Standard Operating Procedure of Customer Service of SBI." Another user shared their own experience with similar issues but noted that no action was taken despite providing call records and other details.

Another user commented on the situation by saying, "This is not 'inconvenience.' This is a demonstration of the pathetic low levels the bank has fallen to. Seems there are no more professional values or ethics."

Such comments highlight growing concerns about customer service practices within banks.
