Amit Yadav, an officer with the Haryana NCB Cyber Cell, recently shared a detailed advisory, urging people to stop circulating the clip. In his message-now widely reshared on Instagram-he clarified that the so-called viral footage is not real, but a synthetically created AI video crafted to mislead people.

In the video, Yadav explains that several users have been forwarding the clip believing it to feature a real couple. "This is AI-generated," he stresses, adding that anyone unsure about authenticity can verify suspicious videos through tools like siteengine.com, which help detect digitally fabricated content.

A Legal Minefield for Viewers and Sharers

While many believe only creators of explicit videos face legal scrutiny, the officer states otherwise. Sharing, downloading, forwarding, or even storing such content-including AI-generated or morphed clips-can invite criminal charges. Offences under IPC Sections 67, 67A, and 66 carry penalties that may include a fine up to ₹2 lakh and imprisonment of up to three years.

With the phrase "19-minute 34-second video" spiking dramatically on Google Trends-especially in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh-the police advisory has arrived at a critical time.

Why Is the Video Causing Such Chaos?

The uproar began when a clip claiming to be a 19-minute MMS started circulating on messaging apps and social platforms. Users made conflicting claims-some insisting it shows explicit scenes, others alleging it contains objectionable audio. What's consistent is the viral spread, and the wave of misinformation surrounding who appears in it.

As the frenzy grew, innocent women began getting dragged into the controversy. Several social media users started tagging and blaming random creators, triggering harassment and online abuse. One of the most vocal among them was Meghalaya influencer sweet_zannat, who posted a firm rebuttal after trolls flooded her comments with "19-minute" references.

"Look closely at my face and then at hers-there's no resemblance," she says in her video response. "Why are people targeting me for something I'm not connected to at all?"

Her plea reflects a larger issue: AI-generated content continues to blur lines between truth and fabrication, often putting real people at risk.
