Election Commission's grant for new party symbol

The Hon'ble Supreme Court's Order dated 19.02.2024 in SLP (C) No. 4248 of 2024 and the Commission's letter dated 07.02.2024 in Dispute Case No.2 of 2023 concerning the Nationalist Congress Party have been referred to.

Accordingly, the name "Nationalist Congress Party- Sharadchandra Pawar" has already been allotted to the group led by Sh. Sharad Pawar (respondent) as per the Commission's Final Order dated 06.02.2024 in Dispute Case No. 2 of 2023. This allocation has been made until further orders are issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the matter. Additionally, the symbol "Man Blowing Turha" has been assigned to the group/party in all parliamentary constituencies in the State of Maharashtra, as per the received request.

"The 'turha', also known as 'tutari', is a traditional trumpet. It is noted that the Tutari, symbolizing the great valor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, once deafened the emperor of Delhi. It is acknowledged as a great honor for our party to have Tutari (Man Blowing Turha) designated as our symbol for the upcoming elections. Our Tutari is now prepared to shake Delhi's throne under the leadership of Sharadchandra Pawar," stated NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) in a post on X.
