However, overruling all media reports, close aide of the actor called it "rumours". It was reported that underworld don Ravi Pujari tried to get in touch with the actor on Monday, Aug 25. Pujari was the same don who had threatened Wadia Group officials in connection with Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia assault case. Such reports surfaced after firing outside the residence of Bollywood producer Morani Brothers' who are considered very close to Shahrukh.

It was reported that security around Shahrukh's bungalow in Mumbai -- Mannat has been tightened following the threat from the don. However, source close to the actor was quoted as saying, "Shah Rukh has not got any such calls. We wonder why such rumours are being spread."
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police too overruled such reports saying, "He has been given police protection for a long time now. So why is there so much of talk about it?"

According to sources, many people from different resident organisations held a protest march outside Shahrukh's Bandstand bungalow on Aug 15. The protesters raised demand to demolish the controversial ramp which barred people to enter a church. The ramp outside Mannat is used to park Shahrukh's vanity van.
