Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan runs in controversy ahead of Bangladesh release

Actor Shah Rukh Khan's film Pathaan which will be he first Hindi film to release in Bangladesh after eight years is already in troubled waters.
Before its release, it is facing criticism in Bangladesh, notably from veteran actors, Dipjol.

Opposing the release of Pathaan, Dipjol said that Hindi films have obscene scenes and songs that do not fit the culture of Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Ministry of Information had recently cleared the release of the film Pathaan in the country.
Dipjol said that the Bangladesh film industry is producing high-quality films which appeal to all audiences. Releasing Hindi films in Bangladesh will have a significant negative impact on the local film industry.
The Hindi movie will affect local cinema and these films are not in line with the country's social culture.
A report in The Daily Star while quoting the actor said, " we are trying to make quality movies to impress the audience. If Hindi films are imported then our movies will will be severely affected. In the last few months, some of our movies have done extremely well in theatres, which has helped the people go to the cinema halls. Our audience wants to watch movies that represent our tradition with their families."
Dipjol also said that there are five movies lined up this year. The release of Hindi movies will have affect on local cinema, Dipjol said ahead of the Path's release.
Dipjol is a veteran Bangladeshi actor known for playing negative roles.
In a press conference recently, the Bangladesh Ministry of Information and the 19 film related organisations came to a consensus that every year 10 Hindi films will be released in Bangladeshi theatres.

Prior to its release the film had been mired in controversy over its song sequences. In the Besharam Rang song, Deepika was seen wearing a saffron bikini that hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. The song Jhoome Jo Pathaan was mocked as music directors Vishal Shekhar had reused their old composition.
This was Khan's first movie since his 2018 release, 'Zero.'
