Police filed charge sheet against them in a Surat court on Thursday, Jan 9.

Police filed charge sheet in which Asaram, his wife and daughter have been booked. Asaram has been charged with rape, illegal confinement and criminal conspiracy case.

Gujarat Police filed the charge sheet in connection with the case in which two Surat-based sisters accused Asaram and his son Narayan Sai of sexually assaulting them inside their ashrams.

Asaram allegedly raped the elder sister and confined her inside his ashram across the country between 1997 and 2006. The younger sister accused Narayan Sai of assaulting her later.

The self-styled godman initially was arrested when a 16-year-old girl hurled serious allegations against him. The girl accused him of assaulting her sexually inside a ashram near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Later police from Rajasthan arrested him in Aug 2013.

Despite all serious charges against him, the self-styled godman have overruled all allegations asserting that he along with his family members have become the victim of a conspiracy.
