Sexual assault accused Justice Ganguly unsure about resignation

AK Ganguly, who has been referred to in a blog by a law intern accusing him of sexual harassment, is unsure about putting down papers from the chairmanship of West Bengal Human Rights Commission.

On asking about his opinion, he said,"Time has not come to think about it."

Last week, he was named as the prime accused in harassing a lady intern in a hotel room last December. Although there was no name in the blog, it was confirmed that the reference was drawn at him.

Meanwhile, the woman and the judge have both testified for a committee of three serving SC judges. However, justice Ganguly maintains that he is "shattered and disturbed" by the allegations.

Senior party leaders like Sushma Swaraj said,"Not only Caesar but Caesar's wife must be above suspicion," indicating that the judge should step down. Back in Bengal, leaders of the Trinamool party echoed the same sentiments.
