Severe Pollution In NCR Forces Gurugram To Shift Higher Education To Online Mode
In response to the alarming pollution levels in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Director of Higher Education, Haryana, has issued a directive for all higher education institutions in Gurugram district, including private institutions, to transition to online classes until further notice. This move comes as the region grapples with severe air quality, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures to protect the health of students and staff.

The Supreme Court has urged state governments to decide on transitioning classes to an online format for all educational levels, following the Delhi government's decision to close schools for students up to class 9 and 11 due to worsening pollution.
On Sunday, the air quality in the national capital reached the 'severe plus' category, and by Monday, it remained at this hazardous level for a second consecutive day. In response, the government activated Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), implementing stringent anti-pollution measures.
