7th Pay Commission: BSNL employees may not get salary hike this time

New Delhi, Jan 31: At a time when government employees are ardently waiting for the seventh Pay Commission, there is a bad news for the the PSU telecommunications major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employees.

BSNL employees got a dampener on Saturday when it was announced that the employees will not get the benefits if BSNL runs in loss in the coming year.

7th Pay Commmission

According to a Zee Media report, "BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava announced that the employees of the company will not get the benefit of the salary hike as announced in the 7th pay commission if the company runs in loss in 2015-16."

Reportedly, BSNL has been posting losses since the previous four years.

Earlier, reports came to fore that Seventh Pay Commission(7th CPC) will be delayed and will come into force in the month of June-July and after that here is yet another disappointing news for these employees. Sources say that Centre may implement new Pay Commission after the execution of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.

Though, Government issued notification for the 'long pending' OROP in November last year, it is yet to implemented. Sources say that Army veterans want some modification into the current form of OROP scheme but Modi Government has yet not accepted their demands.
