Kejriwal then filed an affidavit in the Delhi High Court and also wrote to Jethmalani stating that he had not instructed him to use an offensive words.
Senior advocate, Ram Jethmalani has asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to settle his dues of Rs 2 crore. The demand was made in a letter written to Kejriwal following which Jethmalani quit as his counsel in the Arun Jaitley defamation case.

The letter was shot off after Kejriwal denied having instructed Jethmalani to use offensive language against Jaitley. Jethmalani wrote in the letter that Kejriwal had in fact used more offensive languages against Jaitley in the private meetings.
During the proceedings, Jaitley had asked Jethmalani if the offensive words against him were being used on the instructions of Kejriwal. To this Jethmalani responded in the affirmative, following which Jaitley filed another Rs 10 crore defamation against Kejriwal.
Kejriwal then filed an affidavit in the Delhi High Court and also wrote to Jethmalani stating that he had not instructed him to use an offensive words. In the affidavit, Kejriwal said it was inconceivable that he would even think of instructing the senior counsel to use such objectionable words". "Neither the defendant (Kejriwal) nor the counsel (Anupam Srivastava) briefing the senior counsel (Jethmalani) gave instructions to the senior counsel to use the objectionable words on May 17, 2017.
