Set Back For BJP In Rajasthan In Lok Sabha Elections? Survey Claims Saffron Party To Lose 4-6 Seats
An opinion poll has predicted that the BJP might lose 4-6 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan.
This is quite surprising as almost all the surveys conducted in the last few months have predicted the BJP to repeat its 2019 performance in the state. Especially, no pollsters had predicted after the BJP registered a thumping victory in the assembly polls in Rajasthan.

Lok Poll survey has indicated that the BJP will win 17-19 seats out of 25 seats. In 2019, it had won 24, leaving just one seat to the Congress.
This time, the Congress, which was reduced to 70 seats in the assembly polls in December 2023, is posed to win 6-8 seats.

As per the survey, the public approval of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal's administraion is low as he has not made big announcement. The prevailing anti-farmer sentiments in the northern region are anticipated to dampen the BJP's performance.

Furthermore, the impact of 'Agnipath' is being felt in the Shekhawati region, while the alignment of Bhil voters with BAP and Congress is posing challenges for the BJP in the Vagad region.
Additionally, there's a trend of consolidation among the Jaat, Muslim, Meena, and Meghwal communities in favor of the Congress. The localization of elections on certain seats is proving advantageous for INC and INDIA.
The survey findings:
- The BJP will outperform the Congress in Rajasthan in 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well, but fails to repeat its 2019 performs.
- No big announcement by CM Bhajan Lal yet, the approval among the public regarding his administration is low.
- Anti-farmer sentiments in the northern region tend to lower the performance of BJP.
- 'Agnipath' is hurting BJP in Shekhawati region. Bhil are aligning with BAP and Congress, hurting BJP in the Vagad region.
- Consolidation of Jaat, Muslim, Meena, Meghwal communities towards Congress.
- INC and INDIA are being helped by localisation of elections on some seats.
