September 4 Bank Holiday: Why RBI Has Announced Bank Holiday Tomorrow?
The first special holiday of September is approaching, falling on Wednesday. According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) latest holiday list for the current month, banks will be closed on this day. However, it's worth noting that not all bank branches across India will be observing this holiday. Only one city will be affected by the bank closure, with other branches remaining operational as usual.
This closure is in observance of Tirubhav Tithi, marking the anniversary of Srimanta Sankardeva's death in Assam. Srimanta Sankardeva was a revered saint, poet, dramatist, and social reformer who played a significant role in the Assamese Bhakti movement and the spread of Vaishnavism.

In September, banks will be closed on the following dates:
- - September 4 (Wednesday): Banks will be closed in Assam for Tirubhav Tithi.
- - September 7 (Saturday): Ganesh Chaturthi will close banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Goa.
- - September 8 (Sunday): Banks will be closed nationwide.
- - September 14 (Saturday): Karma Puja/First Onam will close banks in Kerala and Jharkhand. This is also the second Saturday of the month, so banks will be closed in all states.
