Senior IPS Officer Ravi Sinha Appointed RAW Chief
Senior IPS officer Ravi Sinha has been appointed new chief of India's external intelligence Research and Analysis Wing or R&AW chief on Monday.
A 1988 batch IPS officer of Chattisgarh Cadre, Sinha has been serving as the head of operational division in RAW for the last seven years.

He will replace Samant Kumar Goel, who will complete his tenure on June 30, 2023.
"The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rajiv Sinha, IPS, special secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, as Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing vice Samant Goel on completion of his tenure on June 30, 2023, for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the order stated.

Ravi Sinha, a low profile officer, is a widely respected figure across all the intelligence community for his professional competence, according the government press release.
Sinha has worked on a wide range of fields and is known to have a sound grip on neighbourhood developments, "besides J&K (Jammu and Kashmir), NE (North East) and LWE (Left Wing Extremism) domains, where he has severed at different points in time," the government said.
Ravi Sinha is an alumnus of St Stephens College in Delhi.
