Senior advocate Anil Divan no more

Senior advocate, Anil Divan who represented Karnataka in the Cauvery waters matter passed away on Monday. He was 86. One of the most respected advocates, Divan started his legal practise in the Bombay High Court.

Divan ha appeared in several important cases such as the Jain hawala case, Bhopal tragedy and the matter in which the Prevention of Terrorism Act was challenged.

Son of legal luminary Shyam Divan, Anil Divan was appearing for the state of Karnataka in the Cauvery Waters case. He was also recently appointed as the amicus curae in the BCCI case after Fali S Nariman refused to take up the assignment.
