Senior AAP Leader And Ex MLA SK Bagga Dies
Former Aam Aadmi Party MLA SK Bagga has passed away, as announced by the party on its X handle. He previously served as an MLA for Delhi's Krishna Nagar constituency. This election cycle, his son Vikas Bagga was given the ticket to contest from this seat. Unfortunately, Vikas did not manage to replicate his father's success and finished in second place.
SK Bagga was known for defeating IPS Kiran Bedi of the Bharatiya Janata Party in a notable election victory. The Aam Aadmi Party expressed deep sorrow over his passing, stating that "the death of senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Krishna Nagar Assembly MLA Shri SK Bagga ji is extremely sad." They further noted that his commitment to public service would continue to inspire them.

Political Legacy and Family
Vikas Bagga, who also belongs to the Aam Aadmi Party, is SK Bagga's son. Despite his efforts, he could not secure a win in the recent elections. In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, BJP candidate Dr. Anil Goyal contested against Vikas from Krishna Nagar and emerged victorious with 75,922 votes compared to Vikas's 56,424 votes.
Beyond his role as an MLA, SK Bagga held the position of chairman of the Dialogue and Development Commission. He was also a practising lawyer. His last post on X was made on February 6, where he shared a picture of Vikas thanking Delhi voters after casting their votes.
Remembering SK Bagga
The news of SK Bagga's demise has left many in mourning. His dedication to public service and leadership qualities were widely acknowledged. The party's statement highlighted how his work would continue to motivate future generations within their ranks.
The political landscape in Krishna Nagar has seen significant changes with the recent elections. Despite Vikas Bagga's efforts to carry forward his father's legacy, the BJP managed to secure a win in this crucial seat.
