Seems like his leader is Raje, not Sonia Gandhi: Pilot attacks Gehlot

Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday launched a no-holds-barred attack on Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot after the latter claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party's Vasundhara Raje had saved his government from toppling in 2020.

Pilot also categorically denied Gehlot's charges during his speech on Sunday that the MLAs who rebelled against him in 2020 had taken money from the BJP and they should return the money to Amit Shah.

Pilot also announced a 'Jan Sangharsh Yatra' from Ajmer to Jaipur on May 11 to raise issues of corruption.

"Gehlot alleges that the BJP tried to topple his government... then he says Vasundhara Raje, a BJP leader helped save his government. His comments are contradictory and he should clarify," Pilot told reporters.

"There are people, who wants to weaken the Congress, we will not let them succeed. After listening to Gehlot's speech, I understand why we could not act on corruption cases in 4.5 years."

"No leader is more important than the public," Pilot declared.

Addressing a programme in Dholpur on Sunday, Gehlot claimed that BJP leaders Vasundhara Raje and other BJP leaders helped him survive the 2020 revolt, a conspiracy hatched by some of the Congress leaders to topple an elected government through money power.

Pilot also said it is wrong to make allegations against own leaders.

"It is condemnable. I categorically deny false and baseless allegations," he said.
