By July 2023, the two had developed a relationship, and Seema was found living with him in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The two were arrested by Indian authorities in July 2023-Seema Haider for illegally entering India, and Sachin Meena for sheltering an illegal immigrant. Haider, however, claims to have converted to Hinduism after marrying Meena. In March 2024, the couple welcomed a baby girl into the family.

Following the Indian government's directive to expel all Pakistani nationals in India under the SAARC visa exemption scheme, Seema Haider's case is now under the spotlight.
