Security tightened in Mathura ahead of I-Day celebrations

Mathura, Aug 14: In view of 69th Independence Day celebrations on Saturday and the golden jubilee of Strike 1, the security has been beefed up in and around Mathura Cantonment.

"Additional security posts have been established and round the clock patrolling is being carried out," a press release circulated by Col. Gen.Staff (IW) said.

Mock drills have been carried at various places including schools to be prepared for any impending threat.

Necessary liaison with civil administration and police has been established and intelligence inputs have been exchanged, it said.

"Intensive frisking is being carried out of all the vehicles and persons entering the cantonment area", release stated.
