Security goof up: Murderer released by mistake

), April 14: In a major goof up, Katihar jail authorities released a prime accused in a

case, mistaking him for his father who was also arrested in the same case. Instead of Madan Singh, Krishna Singh (his son, who was arrested for the murder of his wife) was released.

Madan Singh was granted bail by a local court here, but Krishna was released by mistake.

When they came to know of their mistake, the jail authorities swung to action and caught the accused from the Salmari police station area 8 hours later.

Police had arrested Krishna Singh and Madan Singh, who are natives of Damdamapur village that comes under the Salmari police station area, last year for the murder of Krishna Singh's wife.
