Security forces eliminate two Hizbul militants in J&K's Pulwama district

The security forces reportedly received a tip-off about the presence of these militants and a joint operation by local police, Army and CRPF was launched.
According to the police spokesperson, "Acting on a specific information regarding presence of militants at Batpora Charsoo, police along with the Army and CRPF launched a search operation in the area on Friday evening. The militants opened fire on the search party triggering an encounter."
Seeing the security forces closing in on their hideouts, the militants opened fire which triggered an encounter.
Of the two militants killed, one has been identified as Riyaz Naikoo while the other is said to be a top militant of the outfit, said an ANI report.
Further re-enforcement have reached the encounter site to ensure that the hiding terrorist do not succeed in escape from the area under the cover of darkness.
Hizbul Mujahideen is a Kashmiri separatist group designated as a militant organisation by India. It is active in Jammu and Kashmir since 1989.
Situation along the LoC have also become tense due to constant ceasefire violation by Pakistan. There have been five ceasefire violations in just three days along the LoC.
