Schools shut, victory processions banned in Muzaffarnagar
As a precautionary measure to maintain law and order, district authorities in Muzaffarnagar have banned victory processions after Uttar Pradesh election results are announced on Saturday. Schools and colleges will also remain closed on Saturday.

"Such processions, after the poll results are announced, have been banned as precautionary measures to maintain law and order," said District Magistrate D K Singh
Singh added that action will be initiated against those who are found violating the ban order. All educational institutions have been asked to remain shut in view of counting and announcement of results of the assembly polls.
The district had seen deadly communal violence in 2013 claiming 60 lives and displacing more than 40,000 people.
