Vinod Sharma, the victim's grandfather, expressed their profound grief, stating, "My grandson's dream was to become a fighter pilot, but our dreams are now shattered. We received his body on Tuesday evening after the post-mortem and are returning home after his cremation." The family's repeated visits to the school, seeking action from the principal, had yielded no concrete results, adding to their anguish.
Seeking Accountability: Family Demands Justice
The victim's father, Rahul Sharma, recounted the events leading to his son's untimely demise. On January 11, the boy returned home from school limping and in severe pain. Despite initial medical attention, his condition worsened, leading to his death on January 20 at a hospital in Rohini. The family's plea for justice resonated, with the victim's mother appealing to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for strict action against the accused.
Government Response: Inquiry Ordered
In response to the incident, the Delhi government issued a statement expressing condolences to the bereaved family. While acknowledging the alleged incident occurred outside the school premises, the government emphasized that CCTV footage had been sought to ascertain the facts. A prompt inquiry was ordered, with a report expected from the committee within two days, and a formal report from the school head to be submitted by Tuesday.
