School Holiday On October 27: Govt Announces Schools Closure on Monday for Chhath Puja

Schools across several states will remain closed next week as devotees prepare to celebrate the Chhath Puja festival with devotion and grandeur.

In the national capital Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a public holiday on Monday, October 27, for Chhath Puja, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office.

In Bihar, schools will stay closed till October 29 for the Diwali and Chhath festivities. Educational institutions in the state have been shut since October 18, providing students and teachers an extended festive break.

In Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, schools are likely to be closed on the occasion of Chhath Puja as well. Official notifications from the respective state governments are expected soon.

Meanwhile, West Bengal will observe holidays on October 27 and 28 for Chhath Puja, followed by a day off on October 31 for Jagadhatri Puja, a major regional festival celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state.
