School Holiday Announcemenet: All Schools, Colleges To Remain Closed Till September 7 In These States

The continuous heavy rains across North India have forced several states to announce school holiday extensions to ensure student safety.

In Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar declared a school holiday on September 3, while Delhi schools stayed open with no fresh school holiday advisory yet.

Shamli and Baghpat administrations also declared a school holiday, adding to the growing list of NCR districts shutting schools due to rains.

In Himachal Pradesh, the government extended the school holiday for all schools and colleges until September 7 after landslides and flooding disrupted normal life.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu confirmed the school holiday extension, stressing that children must not be put at risk during harsh weather.

The Chandigarh administration has similarly announced a school holiday in all government and private schools until September 7 due to continuous rainfall.

Punjab has also declared a statewide school holiday, with Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains confirming closures of schools, colleges, and universities until September 7.

Authorities across North India are treating the school holiday measures as a priority to protect students while relief work continues in affected regions.
