Key School Holidays

- October 27-31: Schools will observe holidays for Diwali celebrations, starting on October 27 in some states and extending to October 31.
- November 1-3: Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj, and other related festivities fall within this period, with several schools closed on these days.
- November 6-9: In states like Bihar and Jharkhand, schools will be closed from November 6 to accommodate Chhath Puja celebrations, adding to the festive holiday lineup.

Uttar Pradesh:
- Schools will observe Diwali on October 31, followed by Govardhan Puja (Nov 2) and Bhai Dooj (Nov 3). Additional holidays include Guru Nanak Jayanti (Nov 15) and Guru Teg Bahadur Jayanti (Nov 24).
Madhya Pradesh:
- Schools affiliated with MP and CBSE Boards will remain closed from October 30 to November 3, marking a five-day break for students and teachers alike.
Bihar:
- With Dhanteras (Oct 29), Narak Chaudas (Oct 30), and Diwali (Oct 31), the holiday extends to Govardhan Puja (Nov 1) and Bhai Dooj (Nov 2). Chhath Puja will keep schools closed from November 6 to 9.
Jharkhand:
- The state has designated October 29 through November 6 as a festive break, covering Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations.
Delhi:
- Schools will close on October 31 for Diwali, with optional holidays for Govardhan Puja (Nov 2) and Bhai Dooj (Nov 3). Delhi students can look forward to a festive respite.
Uttarakhand:
- Schools will observe a break from November 1 to 3. While no specific date for Diwali has been set, some schools plan to adjust according to regional decisions.
Jammu and Kashmir:
- The Directorate of School Education Jammu has announced a five-day holiday for Diwali from October 29 to November 2, allowing students to celebrate with their families.
Tamil Nadu:
- Government offices, public sector undertakings, schools, and colleges will close on November 1 for Deepavali. November 9 will be a working day to balance this holiday.
Odisha:
- Schools may close from October 31 to November 2, though dates vary by institution.
Chhattisgarh:
- Schools in Chhattisgarh are closed from October 28 to November 2, covering Diwali and related celebrations.
