Supreme Court transfers to NGT plea over Yamuna river pollution
It was all started as the apex court took suo motu cognisance of a news report in 1994.
New Delhi, Apr 24: The Supreme Court on Monday transferred to the National Green Tribunal a 23-year-old PIL on pollution in River Yamuna.

A bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice D Y Chandrachud said there cannot be two parallel jurisdictions to deal with the same issue.
It transferred the PIL, which was instituted after taking suo motu note of a news article published in an English daily on the state of pollution in Yamuna in NCR region.
