The Supreme Court has refused to pass an interim order staying the linking of Aadhaar with mobile numbers and bank accounts. The Court said that it would not interfere as the matter is seized off by a Constitution Bench.
The
court
however
pulled
up
banks
and
mobile
companies
for
creating
panic
by
sending
customers
messages
saying
that
their
accounts
would
be
deactivated
if
they
don't
link
them
with
Aaadhaar.
The
Centre
however
denied
that
such
messages
were
being
sent
out.
I
don't
want
to
say
but
I
also
get
messages,"
said
Justice
AK
Sikri.
Stop scaring the people and avoid this, the Supreme Court said. The SC on Friday also asked the Centre to direct companies to mention in their text messages, the last date for linking their mobile numbers and bank accounts with Aadhaar.
