SC notice to Union govt on EVM use without paper trail
Besides the Congress, other political parties such as the Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party have intervened into the matter.
The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to the Union government among others on a petition challenging the use of EVMs without a paper trail.

A lawmaker from the Samajwadi Party had filed the petition in the SC in which he sought a direction to the Election Commission to use the voter verified paper audit trail with EVMs.
The EVM issue has been making headlines with several political parties coming together and questioning its authenticity. The party leaders have also petitioned the President of India in this regard.
