SC agrees to hear plea against Padmavati movie
Members of Shiv Sena performed a 'havan' in protest against director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the film Padmavati, saying they will not allow it to be released in Varanasi.

The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to ''consider the plea'' filed by a lawyer against 'Padmavati' movie, seeking deletion of objectionable scenes. With this plea, the Padmavati controversy has reached the court which was on streets all these days.

On Thursday, the Karni Sena called for 'Bharat bandh' on 1 DecemberBhansali has been facing trouble since he started shooting for the movie. The set of the movie was vandalised twice -- in Jaipur and Kolhapur -- and the director was roughed up by members of the Karni Sena during the Jaipur schedule of the film earlier this year. The movie is set for release on December 1.
