SC adjourns petition seeking probe into allegations by BV Acharya

New Delhi, July 25: A petition seeking an investigation into the autobiography written by senior advocate, B V Acharya has been adjourned by the Supreme Court. The matter will be taken up by the Supreme Court after four weeks.

A petition had been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an investigation into the allegations made by Acharya, who is the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) in the J Jayalalithaa disproportionate assets case. He had written in his book that he was pressurised in the Jaya DA case.

SC adjourns petition against BV Acharya

The petitioner sought an investigation into these allegations. Acharya had been the SPP in the case for seven years following which he stepped down citing pressure.

Acharya had decided to step down from the case citing pressure from some quarters which he also wrote about in his book.
