Saviours turn predators: 14-year old gangraped by army men

Howrah, Dec 29: A 14-year old girl was gangraped by drunk armymen on board the Howrah-Amritsar Express after forcing her to consume alcohol.

According to sources, the girl (a resident of Kolkata) boarded the Punjab-bound train from Howrah on Sunday and entered the coach reserved for army personnel by mistake. While one of the jawans got her drunk, two other gangraped her when she went to the bathroom.

Social workers found her in an unconscious state when the train stopped at Jharkhand's Madhupur station.

Madhupur GRP's officer-in-charge Arjun Tiwari said,"We have arrested one Mandreesh Tripathi who had offered liquor to the minor." Sources said that the accused admitted to having got the girl drunk. The girl was said to be in a state of shock and needed counselling.
