Satyendar Jain Alleges Arrest Was Designed to Halt AAP Initiatives Like Mohalla Clinics and Yamuna Cleaning
Senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain, released from jail on Friday evening, claimed his arrest was intended to halt AAP government initiatives like Mohalla Clinics and Yamuna river cleaning. He alleged that he, along with leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh, were targeted to discourage ordinary citizens from entering politics.

Jain met AAP chief Kejriwal at his Firozshah Road residence after his release. He accused authorities of trying to tarnish Kejriwal's reputation, stating that Kejriwal is committed to serving the common people rather than a select few. "We will continue our fight against injustice and work for the common man," Jain declared to a crowd of AAP supporters outside Tihar Jail.
Allegations Against Authorities
Jain alleged his arrest aimed to stop Kejriwal's projects like building mohalla clinics and increasing hospital beds in Delhi. He emphasized their determination to complete these projects and demonstrate their capabilities. Jain humorously remarked to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi about her Harvard education, suggesting she might also face jail time but vowed to continue fighting injustice.
The AAP leader warned party workers they might also face imprisonment due to their leader's dedication to the masses. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March 2022 for a money laundering case. His release was celebrated by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, party leader Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and other leaders.
Release and Support
Jain was granted bail earlier in the day due to delays in trial commencement and his prolonged imprisonment. Upon exiting Tihar Jail after 873 days, he embraced Sisodia and Singh and waved to supporters. The party issued a statement confirming his release after this lengthy period.
Jain reiterated that attempts were made to defame Kejriwal by portraying him as similar to others in power. However, he insisted that Kejriwal is different due to his honesty and anti-corruption stance. Jain's remarks highlighted the ongoing struggle against perceived injustices faced by AAP leaders.
The release of Satyendar Jain marks a significant moment for the AAP, as they continue their political journey amidst challenges. The party remains steadfast in its commitment to public welfare projects despite obstacles faced by its leaders.
