Sasikala's nephew TTV Dinakaran to contest R K Nagar by-poll
Convicted interim general secretary of AIADMK Sasikala Natarajan 's nephew TTV Dinakaran is all set to contest the R K Nagar by-poll on an AIADMK ticket. Dinakaran who is currently the deputy general secretary of Sasikala camp of the party will fight the by-poll in Jayalalithaa's constituency. Meanwhile, the DMK announced Marudhu Ganesh as its candidate for the April 19 bypoll.

Convicted in a FERA case by the enforcement directorate, Dinakaran was asked to pay up Rs 25 crore in fine by the Madras High Court as recently as January this year. He also will face trial along with Sasikala Natarajan in another economic offence case. It is a matter of irony that TTV Dinakaran who was banned from visiting Poes Garden when Jayalalithaa was alive is now contesting from her constituency.
Meanwhile, the DMK that has sought the support of all opposition parties for the by-poll is expected to announce its candidate for the by-poll shortly.
