Kolkata, Feb 5: The Central Bureau of Investigation has started a major clean up act after it was found that several officials had tried to interfere with the probe into the Saradha scam.

The CBI has ordered an internal inquiry against several officers of the agency after it was found that some of them had tried to stall the progress of the Saradha probe.

Yesterday following a complaint by the CBI, Home Secretary Anil Goswami was removed from his post. It was alleged that he had called an officer in the CBI and tried to stall the arrest of former union minister and Congress leader, Matang Sinh.

Clean up needed:

A CBI official informed oneindia that the probe is at a very crucial stage. There are more arrests underway and if there are officers who try to stall it then they should be removed.

Moreover we are also keeping a close watch on several officers who we suspect could be passing information to some persons involved in the scam. A lot of vital information is being collected following the questioning of the accused.

We do not want this information being passed or leaked as it will give the accused a chance of dodging the investigation, the officer also informed.
