Sanskrit varsity to come up in Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 18: The West Bengal cabinet on Wednesday passed a bill for setting up a Sanskrit university in the state.

Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said a Sanskrit college-cum-research centre would come up in Nabadwip of Nadia district.

The government also decided to include Nepali as one of the languages for answering questions in the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) examination.

A new police station in Kolkata would be established at Rabindra Sarovar, she announced.
