Class 6 Student Dies Before Parents Reach; Family Alleges Harsh Punishment, Questions Missing CCTV Footage

In one tragic incident in Bangalore, a class 6 student - 12 years old reportedly died after collapsing in his school.

However the family of the victim has accused the school for hiding the truth and claimed that the boys was subjected to harsh punishment before his death. This incident took place in Sterling English Residential School in Kadayarappanahalli, located in Bengaluru North.

Boy Collapsed After Falling Ill, Says School

The victim was identified as Guru Kiran - son of Raghavendra, a resident of Subedar Palya in Yelahanka taluk. The family claims that the school authorities informed the parents in the morning of July 8 that Guru Kiran had fallen ill and has been shifted to a nearby hospital.

However, it must be noted that by the time the parents reached the hospital, the doctors had declared him dead. The sudden demise of Guru has left the family in shock and raise questions about what would have happened inside the school before he was taken to the hospital.

Family Alleges Harsh Punishment

Guru's parents claim that he was given a harsh punishment before he was taken to the hospital. His uncle, Mallikarjuna, claimed that the child was beaten by a teacher and was then asked to run multiple rounds on the school ground. He said that Guru collapsed during the run and later died.

The family has questioned the school's claim that the child suffered a cardiac arrest.
Mallikarjuna, said that Guru had no prior health issues and appeared healthy before the incident. He alleged that the school was hiding key details about what actually happened.

Schoolmate Makes Serious Claims

Amid suspicions, the family cited the statement of one of Guru Kiran's classmates. According to the student, a physical education teacher slapped Guru on the neck after waking students up at around 5 am. He further claimed that Guru was asked to run around the playground before collapsing.

The students said that such punishment was common in the school and the students were often beaten with sticks for minor mistakes. However all of such claims have not been independently verified.

CCTV Footage Raises More Questions

The questions were also raised by the parents about the school's response after the incident. The school management failed to provide CCTV footage, claiming that the camera were not working properly at that time. He described the explanation as unacceptable and alleged that the management was trying to suppress the truth.
The family has demanded a fair and transparent investigation to determine the exact cause of the child's death and to identify whether any negligence or misconduct was involved.
