Sanjay Singh Alleges ‘Operation Lotus’ to Destabilise Punjab Govt After Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak Join BJP

Launching a strong attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh accused the ruling party of orchestrating a political conspiracy following the defection of eight AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, including Raghav Chadha.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Singh alleged that the BJP had activated its so-called "Operation Lotus" to destabilise AAP's government in Punjab. He claimed the move was aimed at halting the development work being carried out under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Singh did not hold back in his criticism, accusing the Centre of using investigative agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to pressure party leaders into switching sides. Referring to recent enforcement action involving AAP MP Ashok Mittal, he suggested a pattern linking agency action with political defections.

"This is a dirty game being played with the people of Punjab," Singh said, warning that voters would not forgive what he described as betrayal and deceit. He insisted that despite these developments, the AAP government in Punjab continues to deliver on key sectors such as education, healthcare, and public welfare.

The remarks came shortly after the defecting MPs formally joined the BJP, a move that has intensified political tensions and sparked a war of words between the two parties.
