Sanjay Dutt granted parole of 30 days to attend daughter's surgery
Mumbai, Aug 26: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and a convict in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts has been granted parole of 30 days by Maharashtra administration.
The actor applied for the parole in June citing illness of his daughter. Dutt's daughter Iqra will undergo a nose surgery for which the actor will be out of jail for 30 days.
The ‘Munna Bhai MBBS' star is in jail since January this year.
Sources earlier confirmed that the parole application by filed to the concerned authorities and was under process.

Recently, the frequent grant of parole to Sanjay Dutt created huge uproar and brought Maharashtra Government under the docks.

Earlier in February this year, the Bombay High Court had asked State Government to tell the steps taken by them for modifying parole and furlough rules. The court also asked the government to file an affidavit on the same.
The 55-year-old actor is undergoing the remainder of his five-year jail term in Pune's Yerwada jail. He has been accused for possessing illegal firearms that was part of a cache of weapons meant to be used during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
