Samajwadi Party Surges Ahead In Uttar Pradesh Elections, Outperforming BJP
After several rounds of counting, the Samajwadi Party-led Indian Block is doing well in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP-led NDA alliance, which was leading earlier, has faced a major setback. The Samajwadi Party fielded only five Yadav candidates in UP, all from the family of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Out of these seats, the Samajwadi Party is leading in four against the BJP. The contest is still on for one seat. Akhilesh Yadav is ahead in Kannauj. In Kannauj, SP President Akhilesh Yadav has a decisive lead over BJP's Subrat Pathak. Although vote counting is ongoing, it seems difficult for the BJP to catch up.

BSP's Imran bin Zafar has also received votes here, but it does not seem to affect the SP candidate's performance. Dimple Yadav takes a lead in Mainpuri. Akhilesh Yadav's wife, Dimple Yadav, has established a decisive lead in Mainpuri. The BJP's Jayveer Singh is far behind her.
BSP's Shiv Prasad Yadav is running third here. Dharmendra Yadav took his revenge by defeating Deputy in Azamgarh. In Azamgarh, Dharmendra Yadav has taken his revenge for losing to BJP's Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' in the by-election. The Samajwadi Party is leading by far here.
BSP's MS Ansari is running third here as well. Akshay Yadav ahead on Firozabad seat. Similarly, Samajwadi Party's Akshay Yadav is far ahead on the Firozabad seat. BJP's Vishvdeep Singh is trailing him here. BSP's Chaudhary Bashir is at third place.
BJP candidate ahead of Samajwadi's Aditya Yadav in Badaun. However, the Mulayam family may face a setback on the Badaun seat. Here, BJP's Durvijay Singh Shakya is leading against Samajwadi Party's Aditya Yadav. BSP's candidate Muslim Khan is continuously lagging behind at number three.
