Salaries of eight govt employees withheld for remaining absent from duty
Jammu, Oct 1: The salaries of eight employees of two government schools were withheld by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) for remaining absent from duty in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
During a surprise visit yesterday, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Ramesh Kumar found eight employees absent in Government High School, Galak and Government Middle School, Galak, an official spokesperson said today.

The DC instructed the CEO to chargesheet the absent employees and seek an explanation from them, he said.
On the directives of the DC, the CEO directed the employees to explain their position within three days failing which they will be placed under suspension without further notice, he said. He also issued orders to withhold the salaries of the eight employees for the month of September till further orders, the spokesperson added.
