Kerala Minister Saji Cheriyan Blasts Christian Priests for Ignoring Manipur Violence
Kerala Minister Saji Cheriyan strongly criticized Christian priests for their alleged silence on the issue of Manipur violence during PM Modis Christmas program. He questioned their attendance at the event and accused them of forgetting the violence against their community members. Cheriyan also criticized certain Christian priests for joining the BJP in Kerala.
On Sunday, Kerala's Cultural Affairs Minister, Saji Cheriyan, strongly criticized Christian priests for their alleged silence on the issue of violence in Manipur during a Christmas program organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi.

Mocking Bishops Who Attended the Event
While inaugurating a local committee office of his party, CPIM, in Alappuzha district, Cheriyan mocked certain bishops who attended the Prime Minister's program. He sarcastically remarked that they experienced goosebumps when BJP leaders invited them.
Accusations of Ignoring Manipur Violence
Cheriyan alleged that these bishops forgot about the violence targeting their own community members in Manipur when they were served with cakes and grape wine at the event. He questioned whether they urged the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter.
Criticism of Christian Priests Joining BJP in Kerala
Cheriyan also criticized certain Christian priests for still joining the BJP in Kerala, highlighting the recent incident where a priest and around 50 Christian families joined the party in Pathanamthitta district.
PM Modi's Praise for Christian Community
During his interaction with members of the Christian community at his residence on Christmas, Prime Minister Modi had praised the minority community for its contributions to the freedom movement and various fields such as healthcare and education. He acknowledged their role with pride.
No Response from BJP or Bishops
Neither the BJP nor the bishops have responded to Cheriyan's allegations as of yet.
