SAD to re-nominate Dhindsa and Gujral for RS polls
Chandigarh, Mar 8: Punjab's ruling Shiromani Akali Dal today said that party Secretary General Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and General Secretary Naresh Gujral will contest for the Rajya Sabha elections from the state.
Dhindsa and Gujral will file their nomination papers tomorrow in the state assembly, a party statement quoting SAD Secretary and Spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said. Both Dhindsa and Gujral are sitting RS members whose term will end next month.

The election to five RS seats from the state is slated for March 21. Besides Dhindsa and Gujral, the term of Avinash Rai Khanna (BJP), Manohar Gill and Ashwani Kumar (both Congress) is also coming to an end next month.
From Congress, among the front runners are former state party chief Partap Singh Bajwa, senior leader Laal Singh and MLA Sunil Jakhar, party sources said. BJP is likely to field former MP Navjot Singh Sidhu for the elections to the Upper House.
