SAD Chief Pledges to Uphold Punjab Rights Amidst Political Challenges
In a strategic move to galvanize support and strengthen the party's groundwork, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal embarked on a comprehensive tour across Punjab. This initiative comes in the wake of the party's performance in the recent general elections, where SAD secured only one of the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab. Badal's tour is aimed at rallying the party workers for a robust performance in the upcoming by-elections.

During his visits, Badal made stops at the residences of SAD candidates Iqbal Singh Jhunda in Amargarh and Ranjit Singh Dhillon in Ludhiana. These meetings with party leaders and workers were not just courtesy calls but strategic discussions aimed at reassessing and rejuvenating the party's strategies and morale post-election.
Badal's message was clear and focused on the resilience and readiness required for the forthcoming electoral challenges. He emphasized the unique position of SAD in defending the interests of Punjab and its people. "We will continue to fight for the rights of Punjab," he asserted, highlighting key issues such as safeguarding river waters, demanding the transfer of Chandigarh to Punjab, and seeking a legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.
The SAD president also addressed the electoral setback, urging party workers not to be disheartened by the recent poll results. Instead, he called for a collective effort to "expose the corruption-laden misrule of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)" which he blamed for bankrupting the state and contributing to a rise in drug addiction and gangster culture.
Furthermore, Badal criticized the alleged collusion between AAP and Congress during the elections, accusing them of conspiring to marginalize SAD. "People have seen how the Delhi-based parties ganged up against the SAD," he remarked, highlighting what he perceives as a concerted effort to undermine his party.
This tour is not just about introspection and planning for SAD; it's a clarion call for unity and action among its ranks. With Badal leading from the front, SAD aims to reassert its relevance and effectiveness in Punjab's political landscape, especially in light of the challenges posed by AAP and Congress. As Punjab gears up for the by-elections, all eyes will be on how SAD navigates its recovery path and whether it can translate Badal's rallying cry into electoral success.
