Sachin Pilots Bold Statement: Political Parties Cant Certify Devotees

Sachin Pilot, a senior Congress leader, sparked a discussion on the role of political parties in defining religious devotion. He criticized the BJP for politicizing the Ram Temple consecration ceremony and emphasized that religion is a personal matter.

Raipur, January 11: Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed his stance on the Ram Temple consecration ceremony and criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a press conference in Chhattisgarh. Pilot, who was appointed as the party's state in charge, addressed various issues concerning politics, religion, and the current state of affairs in India.

Sachin Pilots Challenge: Who Decides True Devotion?

Declining the Invitation: A Matter of Principle

Pilot highlighted the decision of Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to decline the invitation to attend the Ram Temple consecration ceremony. He clarified that the party's decision was based on the belief that the BJP was attempting to politicize the event for electoral gains.

Religion as a Personal Choice

Emphasizing the importance of religious freedom, Pilot asserted that no political party should issue certificates of devotion. He stated that religion is a personal choice, and there is no need for anyone's permission or invitation to practice one's beliefs.

Critique of BJP's Governance

Pilot launched a critique of the BJP's governance at the Centre, citing the widening gap between the rich and poor, the privatization of national assets, and the implementation of policies such as the three farm laws, the Agniveer military recruitment scheme, demonetization, and GST, which have caused distress among the people.

Congress' Strategy for Lok Sabha Polls

Expressing confidence in the Congress' prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Pilot asserted that the party would focus on issues that matter to the people, while the BJP would resort to emotional appeals. He highlighted the Congress' strong presence in Chhattisgarh despite the loss in the recent Assembly polls and expressed optimism about the party's performance in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

INDIA as a Concern for BJP

Pilot also mentioned the growing influence of the Congress-led opposition bloc, INDIA, which comprises parties that collectively secured two-thirds of the vote share in the 2019 general elections. He suggested that the BJP was becoming increasingly concerned about the strength of this alliance.

Sachin Pilot's press conference in Chhattisgarh provided insights into the Congress party's stance on the Ram Temple consecration ceremony, its critique of the BJP's governance, and its strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Pilot emphasized the importance of religious freedom, criticized the BJP's policies, and expressed confidence in the Congress' ability to connect with the people and emerge victorious in the electoral contest.
