Ruckus in J&K assembly over amnesty to stone pelters

Speaker Mubarak Gul failed to restore order as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders stood on their seats asking him to allow the adjournment motion over amnesty to stone pelters against whom cases have been registered in the Valley.
PDP legislator Abdul Rehman Veeri said amnesty for over 6,000 youth against whom cases have been registered is an important issue since they were not able to apply for government jobs and seek passports.
"If these cases are not withdrawn, these youths would be pushed to the wall," he said.
National Conference leader and Rural Development Minister Ali Muhammad Sagar alleged that it was the PDP whose supporters were involved in stone pelting incidents across the Valley.
The speaker said he would allow a discussion on the issue in the state assembly later.
