RTI activist Baliga murder: Car of a prominent chartered accountant used for the crime

Mangaluru, Mar 31: While the police have intensified the probe on RTI activist Vinayak Baliga's murder case, the reliable sources have informed that a car of a prominent chartered accountant of Mangaluru was used for the crime.

The police investigating this angle, are yet to come out with any major leads. Besides, sources have indicated that a person associated with construction business is also allegedly a part of conspiracy. RTI activist Baliga had filed complaints against construction projects undertook by the person.

RTI activist Vinayak Baliga was murdered in the wee hours of March 21, Monday. He was on his way to temple on his scooter, when unidentified persons waylaid him at Kodialbail and killed using sharp weapons. The police investigating the case arrested two, Vineeth Poojary (26) and Nishith Devadiga (23). Both residents of Mangaluru.

A car has been used by the contract killers aka supari killers, to carry out the killing. Multiple sources said the car that has been used in the murder belongs to a prominent chartered accountant of Mangaluru city. The chartered accountant also hails from GSB (Goud Saraswat Brahmin) community and has links with the temple affairs.

Absconding

The police on March 28 has visited the house of Yuva Brigade's Naresh Shenoy in connection to this case. Many GSB community persons, to whom this news portal spoke to confirmed that after the police deliberation on Naresh Shenoy, he has fled the city and he is absconding.

In a press meet convened by the President of Federation of Indian Rationalist Association on March 30, Narendra Nayak, he mentioned in veiled manner, saying a person having close links with temple affairs is absconding after the incident. Nayak also urged the police to constitute a separate special investigation team to conduct a fair inquest.

On the other hand a close friend of Naresh Shenoy speaking to OneIndia said that, Shenoy is not absconding. When asked, why don't Shenoy come out and speak to this scribe in order to clear the air, Shenoy's friend said "he is not in communication with me and I am in no know of Shenoy's whereabouts."
