RSS Envisions Five-Fold Transformation in Society, Aims to Shift Intellectual Narrative
New Delhi, March 26 - The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is aiming to reshape India's intellectual narrative through a concept known as Panch Parivartan, or five-fold transformation, according to the organization's general secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale. In a recent interview with Organiser and its sister publication Panchjanya, Hosabale outlined the RSS's vision for societal change which encompasses promoting equality and fraternity (Samarasta), adopting an environment-friendly lifestyle, reviving family values, fostering a sense of self rooted in Bharatiya values, and encouraging civic responsibility.

Hosabale emphasized that these transformations are crucial for society at large. With the RSS approaching its centenary in 2025, the organization has set two primary goals: expanding its network of Shakhas (branches) and enhancing the quality of its activities. "By focusing on qualitative growth, we aim to amplify our impact," Hosabale stated.
The RSS's strategy includes mobilizing righteous societal forces for change and reshaping the national intellectual discourse. "The current times are favorable for spreading national thoughts, but this should not lead to complacency. Instead, it's a call to action," he added.
With the Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, starting April 19 and unfolding in seven phases, the RSS sees an opportunity to further its mission of Panch Parivartan. Hosabale shared that ensuring a high voter turnout is part of their objective to bolster democracy. "It's about more than just voting; it's about engaging in discussions on social welfare, national unity, and the progress of Bharat," he explained.
The concept of Lok-Mat-Parishkar or Refining Public Opinion was highlighted by Hosabale as a key focus, especially during election seasons. This initiative draws inspiration from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's emphasis on shaping public opinion to address national issues effectively.
As the RSS moves towards its centennial celebration, its leaders are keen on implementing these strategies at both organizational and societal levels to achieve a comprehensive transformation in line with their vision for India.
