Rs 89 crore seized from TN minister was meant for R K Nagar bypoll, claim documents
A total of Rs 89.65 crore is said to have been allotted for distribution to voters illegally for the R K Nagar bypoll.
Officials of the Income tax department, who raided properties belonging to Tamil Nadu Health Minister Vijaya Bhaskar, are said to have unearthed documents to prove that money was being illegally distributed to voters in R K Nagar constituency.

A set of documents accessed by media outlets in Tamil Nadu claim that details of ministers, the wards under their control and money earmarked to be distributed to the voters have been mentioned in the documents that were seized.
According to the documents, R K Nagar constituency has been divided into seven parts and each part has been assigned to one leader. Names of leaders as mentioned in the documents includes Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisami alongside Sengottayan, Thangamani, Velumani, Vaithalingam, Dindugal Srinivas and Jayakumar.
According to the documents, claimed to have been recovered during raids on Vijaya Bhaskar, a total of Rs 89.65 crore is said to have been allotted for distribution to voters illegally for the R K Nagar bypoll.

According to the document, Rs 13.13 crore is earmarked for Sengot,tayan, Rs 13.27 crore for Edappadi Palanisamy, Rs 11.13 crore to Vaithalingam, Rs 12.83 crore to Dindigul Srinivasan, Rs 12.67 crore to Thangamani, Rs 14.91 crore to Velumani and Rs 11.68 crore to Jayakumar have been earmarked. The documents further suggest that the money was given tot eh leaders to be distributed to at least 85 percent of the voters in R K Nagar bypoll.
While the Income tax department has made no official announcements on the raids or what was recovered and if the documents are also part of other things seized from Vijaya Bhaskar, regional media in Tamil Nadu have claimed that the documents reveal details of dirty money meant for the bypolls.
